Classes

Let's schedule a free 10-minute video call. It's a relaxed, no-obligation conversation where we can get to know each other, understand what you're looking for, and I can show you how my study method is tailored to the music questions you ask me.

• My classes can be super intensive, with plenty of time for you to study calmly for 3 months and then we can revisit.

• Or I can adapt to those who prefer to take it slow, week by week.

I have teaching plans for both options. 🧠

But more importantly, for me, music is an excuse to create a human connection. That's why the first step is a video call: to check what we have in common, if we share the same musical tastes, and if we like each other.

If you would like to move forward, please write to me at  briancallipari@gmail.com with the subject "Guitar Lesson" and we'll coordinate from there.

WHAT I DO TEACH

  • My goal is to teach you how to be self-taught.

  • Chords, Solos, and Composition in Blues, Jazz, Swing, Rock & Roll, and Gypsy Jazz.

  • How to play melodic solos without relying on the pentatonic scale.

  • How to use the pentatonic scale musically—not in a boring, automatic way.

  • Creative composition.

  • Modulation techniques and harmonic movement.

  • How to record songs at home, shoot, and edit the videos.

  • Techniques for studying without an instrument (perfect for when you're waiting in line at the bank or on vacation).

  • How to stay motivated and enjoy the process.

I am happy to work with you, no matter your level.

WHAT I DON'T TEACH

  • Styles I don't play: Funk, Indie, Reggae, Metal, Grunge, and similar.

  • Reading sheet music.

  • First time holding a Guitar: It wouldn’t be responsible of me to give you lessons if you’re picking up the guitar for the very first time. From a webcam, I can’t properly tell if you’re holding the guitar correctly—and that can be risky. In just a few months, this could lead to joint pain and force you to stop playing altogether. Once you can play basic chords naturally and do a simple melody or two without strain, feel free to reach out to me anytime. (Or we can also just focus on theory—no guitar needed.)
